We made the control level future-proof—and we did it in such a way that our client hardly even noticed.

Want to significantly simplify and visualize complex processes? And do it all in the shortest possible time with minimal downtime? We were commissioned by a long-standing client in the dairy industry to carry out a comprehensive retrofit of its control and process management systems. This groundbreaking upgrade for the dairy opens up a whole new world of possibilities in terms of transparency, compatibility, and flexibility.

By upgrading the server to ProLeiT Plant iT Version 9.7 and scaling the system to support the latest Siemens controllers, we demonstrated our responsiveness in both support and problem-solving within an extremely short timeframe.

Compatibility

The upgrade enables the transition to the latest Windows operating systems and the renewal of the entire SQL infrastructure. This ensures that the dairy is well-positioned to handle updates and upgrades and modern IT applications.

Simplification

Thanks to the redrawing and interlinking of all process diagrams, as well as the redesign of the entire visualization system, the dairy now has a basis for rapid decision-making and, as a result, greater responsiveness.

Data Availability

With this upgrade, process activities in the control system can be automatically recorded, visualized, and archived. This makes it possible to identify problems even after the fact.

4h
Plant Shutdown Over the Weekend

Installation practically on the fly, over a weekend.

High workload? No problem. The customer receives a proven, comprehensive solution with all features within a single weekend. Thanks to thorough advance planning, our planemos installation team was able to upgrade the entire control system to the current V9 system extremely quickly—in just 4 hours and without any issues.

A Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) was used to simulate the entire system’s operation prior to commissioning—including integration with all third-party systems and external interfaces. After just four hours, the next truck was already back at the door.

"Updating a tried-and-true system while it's still in operation requires a great deal of expertise to avoid system downtime."
