Treat process water effectively and save up to 140 cubic meters of wastewater per day. A new filtration system makes it possible.

For a long time, whey water was considered a waste product in the dairy industry. Today, thanks to state-of-the-art filtration technology and the right software, we can treat this resource effectively and efficiently and reuse it as process water in production.

Potential: Replacing fresh water with process water

During the concentration and evaporation of milk, steam is initially produced, which condenses into steam condensate when heat is removed. In uninsulated tanks, bacteria can form very quickly at temperatures between 20 and 30 °C. Thanks to our planemos filtration system, the vapor condensate can be treated into process water with minimal energy consumption and can once again perform important cleaning tasks in the dairy’s water circulation system—from manual cleaning and CIP to evaporation cleaning.

Lower energy costs for wastewater treatment

Control

Our software creates a defined mixture from the various vapors and feeds it into the bioreactor. At the same time, biomass is pumped out and the condensate is filtered. After numerous filtering and pumping steps, valuable process water is produced.

Monitoring

All dosing operations, water parameters, and inflow and outflow rates are monitored in real time, continuously controlled, and tracked. Traceability is always ensured, even during continuous operation.

Documentation

Data from the filtration process is collected and documented in real time. This provides an optimal basis for subsequent analysis, reporting, and process optimization.

Everything is designed to be simple and user-friendly—from operation and recipe management to loop parameterization."
